ABOUT MOONDUST PRODUCTIONS

MOONDUST started in the year 2000 with a single cabaret show! Classes began in a room above the Cairns City Club in 2001, and they grew like wildfire. Before we knew it, we had moved to our very own dance studio!

Moondust's goal to be different, fun and full of energy has led to astounding achievements in a very short time and has brought about positive change to many people's lives.

DIRECTOR
DANIELLE KENT

Hi there! Since I was a little girl I have always loved dancing in my bedroom with a hairbrush as a microphone! I love dancing, dressing up and performingÂ…even when I'm not on the stage! I started ballet when I was 8 and ever since then have had a massive interest in the theatre, dancing and musicals.

At Moondust we bring a healthy dose of fun and physical activity into your lives which aims to help develop self-esteem, energy and your individual style! As a teacher, my strength lies with the little ones, and I take great pride in developing their imagination, creating a fun class and teaching them things they never knew they could do! Moondust is the funkiest dance school in town! Lighting up dancer's lives is my passion. My mission is to create a happy, engaging and positive place for children and parents alike to escape the pressures of the outside world. TEACHER
LINDA BONADIO

Hi! My name is Miss Linda. Dancing became part of my life at the age of 6 when I started Classical Jazz at Tableland Dance in Atherton. I was always really excited to be going off to lessons after school, but it wasn't until the last 4 years that I got really passionate about it and decided that I'd like to share my knowledge and dance experiences with other people in the form of teaching. At Moondust it's all about fun & finding your own flavour. It's really exciting to get into class and teach my students new & challenging techniques and moves, it is also very rewarding when I see the students achieve these new and/or difficult dance steps.

TEACHER
SASHA WILSON

Hi! My name is Miss Sasha. I have been dancing for over a decade now. I started when I was 7 when I went to line dancing classes with my grandmother! From there she encouraged me to try Ballroom & Latin dancing. This style satisfied me for 8 years, and my highest achievement with it was a 2 nd at the Queensland championships held at the Gold Coast. I have also studied Modern Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and even a little bit of break dancing! I love dancing because it helps you keep a fit mind & body. I like to create a fun but safe learning environment during my classes. If a child feels comfortable I feel they have more chance of reaching their full potential. I love giving them a chance to shine!

TEACHER
CLINT
I have been dancing since I was 5 years of age and have always been looking to develop my style through the old skool moves blending with the new skool.  I love to dance to the latest Hip Hop tunes from the  US and love performing on stage.  It is my passion and is fun too.  By dancing everyday I am doing what I love and look forward to passing on what I have learnt to the new age of dancers. Hip Hop brings a sense of energy, fun and achievement to dancing that comes with pulling off an awesome section of choreography you never thought you'd be able to get.  That is what I love the most, the challenge and the personal triumph. My advice to all the people out there who love Hip Hop music and want to dance, just do it because you'll never look back!

ASSISTANT TEACHER
KELLY FOOT

Hi everybody, my name is Miss Kelly. I have been dancing since Moondust started in 2001, my favorite style of dance is funk/ hip hop and I also enjoy jazz & tap, I love dancing because I am full of energy, and enthusiasm and dance is a perfect way to release it. To me, being an assistant teacher means I can continue my learning and love of dance whilst passing on my experience. It is great to watch my students learn and grow with confidence in their dancing, even when they are only four or five years old. In the future I hope to do something with dance whether as a teacher or performing and Moondust has greatly contributed to this goal. See you on the dance floor!

MISS DONNA
Hi everyone! I am Miss Donna and I have been dancing since 1989 learning Jazz, Tap and Classical Ballet and have also attended my share of funk and modern workshops! Straight after studying at university I got into The Cairns Production of GREASE and had a wonderful time! Dancing is a fun way to exercise and is great for making friends who love dancing as much as you! I enjoy teaching at Moondust as the enthusiasm is fantastic! I ensure my classes are enjoyable as well as productive so that at the end of each term my students will have learned some new techniques. If you like to groove come along and have some fun with us!"

MISS RYLEY
Hi there! My name's Miss Ryley and dancing has been apart of my life since I was a young girl. I've been dancing for over a decade now, and in that time have tried many diverse styles of dancing from: Tap, Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and Latin. Dancing has always been a very important part of my life and I have spent many hours performing in concerts and eisteddfods, which has always been great fun! I can't go anywhere without tapping down the halls or pirouetting out the door! Teaching at Moondust is a highlight for me as it allows me to share my love and appreciation of dance with those who are just discovering dance and feel the same as I do. There is nothing more rewarding to me then passing on my knowledge of dance to my students and seeing them add their own individuality to my classes. I have found that dancing is a great release and as soon as I walk onto the dance floor, my worries are left at the door. Not only is dancing fun, relaxing and a great way to keep fit, but it's also a fantastic way to socialise and meet new friends! What are you waiting for!

MISS FIONA
Hi there Moondusters, my name is Miss Fiona.  I became interested in dancing at the age of 3, when I saw a classical ballet being performed on TV and told my mother “that’s what I want to do!”  I have studied many forms of dancing including, classical ballet, tap, jazz, funk, hip hop, contemporary, cabaret, ethnic, Scottish and Irish and have travelled all over Queensland competing in eisteddfods and dance festivals.  I have now been dancing for more that 24 years and teaching for over 9.  I am a fully qualified dance teacher through the Education in Dance and Theatre Arts (EDTA) Syllabus. I still love to express myself through the art of dance and that will never change, but I have also found that teaching is also very fulling as I see the students improve with every class and achieve things they never thought possible.  I can’t explain the feeling that runs through my body when I see my students up on stage enjoying the routines I have choreographed! The look of sheer joy on their faces is overwhelming.  Moondust is a great place to dance, teach and as the studio promotes a fun and exciting environment for students of all ages and abilities.
